DIRECTIONS.    From Amamoor village travel along Amamoor Creek Rd. for 1.8 Km turning right into Harry's Creek Rd.

SIGN - ON AND BRIEFING .    Due to the wet road conditions and rather long grass in many areas we shall confine our vehicles to council maintained roads. This road leads to the Amamoor State Forest and has very little traffic activity.

LOCATION 1.   Travel 0.7 Km. and park in the cleared area.

Walking adjacent to the creek and view a small sample of the vegetation which would have flourished in this area.

This medium size tree was in full flower , lets hope some flower remain for our outing.

The marks on the leaves are from the flowers. Shall leave the I.D. for the outing.

LOCATION 2.  Travel a further 0.5 Km. and park in the cleared area.

This section of the walk leads into the State Forest. Well treed moist vine scrub adjacent to the creek. The creek is flowing nicely, due to slippery road conditions we will not be able to explore  " Harry's Cascades" , may be another time.

A sign as you enter the state forest area. Sorry about the Cats Claw Creeper, in general the area is not too bad for the pest.

LOCATION 3.     Amama Day Use Area.  Toilets and shelter available. Turn right onto Amamoor Creek Rd. and travel for about 3 Km.

A short walk on the edge of Amamoor Creek, Keep eyes open for platypus and fresh water mullet.

A rather short walk to Amama Cascades , class 4 .  The creek crossing may prove difficult with the constant rain.

Morning Tea and Lunch will be take at an appropriate time and place.

VISITORS  ARE WELCOME.    If you are beginning or experience in your knowledge of our flora and fauna , join the Field Nats. for a slow paced outing to this area. One of our members should be able to help with identification questions.
